The R.C. Bush Pilots was started in the Fall of 1981 solely for the purpose of those who enjoy the recreation sport of operating Radio Controlled (RC) models. The club called several sites home until finally settling in to its current location about 10 years ago. The field was at one time located on another hill atop the Dyer landfill, farther north from the one we now fly from. The current site is named in recognition of a former president, Phil Wherry, now deceased. The R.C. Bush Pilots has grown consistently over the years. With membership now at about 130, it is one of the largest clubs in Florida. With land as scarce as it is in our area, we are careful to maintain a healthy relationship with our land-lease partner, Palm Beach County. | |
