Ok peeps, here is what I reccomend for light weight foamies (9oz and under!)
Motor: CustomCDR Single Cool Wind. http://www.customcdr.com/cgi-bin/ccp51/cp-app.cgi?usr=51H3994028&rnd=1011162&rrc=N&affl=&cip=74.238.102.64&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=20mmsingle&cat=singlemotors&catstr=HOME:singlemotors
ESC: Castle Creations Thunder Bird 9a http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-parts/CC-TB9/RC-PARTS-SPEED-CONTROLLERS-CASTLE-CREATIONS.html
Servos: Any thing under 7g that has over 8 oz of torque. yes HS 55's will work but they are heavy. the BlueArrow 4.3g servos look good. http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-parts/BA-43G/RC-PARTS-BLUE-ARROW-SERVOS.html
Battery: I love the THunderPower 350mah 3cell for $25 bucks! http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-parts/TP-350-3SPL/RC-PARTS-THUNDER-POWER-3-CELL-LITHIUM-BATTERIES.html
RX: I like the GWS Pico 4ch RX's. but I know some of you use Spektrum so, go for what you desire. but remember, keep it light!
Prop: the GWS 8x4 works best on the CustomCDR single, tests have shown that with a 3cell lithium and a GWS 8x4 prop the CCDR single produces 20.07 oz of thrust, 9.4 amps, at 101 watts. can you imagine that on a 6oz foamy??? talk about 3D mayhem...lol
if you go cheap, you get what you pay for, but then again, some China products are good. like my 3D GeeBee. if you want to take a chance to go cheap, UnitedHobbies.com has the best prices on cheap motors and ESCs and Servos.
