I have to say I had a good time. Phil represented the trainer crew and finished all events. with a 40 size trainer. Phill took 4th in the limbo where most other planes sucumbed to the carnage. Heck I lost my landing gear and resorted to hand launching a Ucan Do. Boots put on an awsome harrier display and "wiped out"most of the balloons, for the balloon pop. Though Premee Warner took the job literally and started wiping out balloons, streamers, POLES and any thin else that stood above 6 inches of the ground.
In the Bomb drop it was hard to beat Dans 6 inch drop above the ground, but our own Wayne made a valiant attempt that earned him second place, and a dirt nap 10 feet later.
For My first attempt at a fun fly and given the level of the pilots I flew against I was suprised at how well I finished. I took first in the climb and glide and 11 foot spot landing made all the difference in the world. The part of this was a lucky wind gust that kept me from over shooting the zone, and a stalling gear plop that probaply cost me my gear block later in the day.
The second event I finished first was the hot dog race, again dont be fooled it was not my flying the earned the win. Several by standers stood in awe as a hot dog disappeared in a blur. I was told that Wayne( my transmitter holder) checked to see if he still had all of his fingers after my launch.
The sleeper of the day was our CD "Grasshopper" Handegard. Quietly he finished consistently in each event. His flying skills are well above were he finished, " was he being a gentelmanly CD" we will never know.
Thank You Chris for a great introduction to a great event.
